About
Hi, I’m Kelly—and I make art that’s stitched with stories, layered with color, and sparked by joy.
My creative journey started at age seven on my mom’s old Singer sewing machine (which I still cherish and use!). She taught me to sew, and in doing so, passed down a love of textiles and a connection to the generations of women in my family who were quiltmakers, artists, and storytellers in their own right. Their legacy is the thread that runs through everything I make.
Today, I blend those timeless quilting techniques with the freedom of modern mixed media—think bold acrylics, bits of fabric, messy mark-making, and spontaneous collage. My pieces are playful, textured explorations that invite you to look closer, to discover the hidden layers and quiet marks woven into each work. I want you to feel the energy, the movement, and maybe even a little spark of memory or joy.
At the heart of it all, my art is about connection—connecting with the past, with my community, and with the person standing in front of the canvas. It’s both preservation and play, structure and surprise. I believe there’s beauty in imperfection and power in creative expression, and I hope my work brings a bit of brightness into your day.
Thanks for being here. I’m so glad we found each other.
